Just to be sure, I started up Third Age Total War on Steam (which is also on a different hard drive) and that one works fine. Most likely, just deleting the contents of your empire folder and clearing out the %appdata/Roaming/The Creative Assembly/Emire folder as well, verifying cache, set Empite.exe to run as administrator before starting it the first time, then launch and it should be fine.ītw do you work with programming for a living?īecause I usually dont get so direct answers when I have questions.

If the problem is in your windows registry, you need to uninstall Empire using Programs and features in the control panel and pray you have true full admin rights on your account which most people do not unless they built and setup their system themselves. If the problem is n your Empire folder, you can delete the contents leaving the Empire folder itself intact but empty and verify files. I can tell you that if you remove all traces of Empire from your computer including the registry you can reinstall clean and have no problems. We all know you just delete that file and let Empire spawn another at startup. When this happens to the it causes the graphics settings to get stuck at mid level no matter if you try to turn up or down. Here is the catch, it could be in Steam, Windows, or just Empire, but the damage is Empire specific.
Basically, you have a file that is not matching its description and it is kicking it back out.
